Don’t let the giants eat your dropshipping business

Big players are in every business. They always try to create hurdles in the success path of the start-ups. Dropshipping business is no exception. The giants in this business spread their roots everywhere and make it really tough for the small and new dropshippers to survive in the market. They bring in new strategies, try to keep the cost as low as possible and give a hard time to the new dropshippers. In short the giant dropshippers eat your small dropshipping business as you are left with no profit. What you need to do here is to resist them from doing so and become their competitor.

The first way to compete with the giant dropshippers is to develop a niche in the market. Focus on a specific product and become master in that. By doing this you will easily survive because customers like those dropshippers which get into the details about the product and satisfy the customers to the maximum. The giant dropshipper has to put a lot of effort to get into your niche market and hence you survive.

The next thing is to practice cost leadership. Generally the big players are also the cost leaders but what you need to do is to break there net and become more cost effective. Cost effective here does not mean that you should start selling products with no profit at all but it means to keep the profits to the minimum level in the beginning. Once you are well known in the market and you are able to generate greater sales, your profit margin will increase automatically.

The last thing here is differentiation. It means to stand different from others. If you are unable to develop a niche and you are not the cost leader then become the best quality provider or provide the best customer services.

It is really difficult to give competition to the giant dropshippers in all these three areas at once . Therefore it is advised to focus on a single area out of the three mentioned above and out perform the dropshipping giant if you want to survive in the market.
