Which one is better – Amazon or eBay?

Amazon and eBay are the two giants of online business. Both allow the sale and purchase of products online and both have a huge customer base associated to them. People carry out their business with both these websites. Since the establishment of both these online business portals they are in a continuous competition with each other. Some people say that eBay is the best place for online business whereas others say that Amazon is a better one.

If you carry out a survey and ask people to decide which one is better among eBay and Amazon it would be difficult for you to decide. People who are loyal to eBay will praise its excellence whereas those who use Amazon will say that Amazon has more advantages. A better way to judge both the online portals is to compare both the portals.

If we compare the payment system of these business portals we will come to know that Amazon is better than eBay. Both of them has their own payments systems but Amazon collects payments and deposit them to your bank account with out deducting any charges whereas eBay charges some amount for transactions carried out through its PayPal. People using Paypal have to spend more time, more money and more effort for making these transactions. Therefore, Amazon is considered better for the payment methods.

eBay is famous for its online auctions and Amazon is considered the best in fixed price arena. Both of them outperforms each other in their specific domains. EBay allows the sellers to market and promote their products and reach the potential buyers whereas Amazon does not provide this facility and you cannot build a brand worth of your product on Amazon. So, if you want to build a brand worth of your product eBay wins the competition.

Both eBay and Amazon are good in their own way. Both have certain advantages over the other. But it would not be fair to claim one of them is best. It is the user who needs to make a wise selection among both of these web portals and their systems. One should do proper research and then select that business portal which suits his business the best.
